Café Creperie - Elora, ON
Doors 7:00pm - Show 7:30pm
Nathan Sloniowski and Mark Ostrowski are coming together again to recreate the magic of their sold out 2024 Café Creperie folk show devoted to Nathan’s coming of age album titled The Lost Love Letter To A Small Town.
In the 70s, Elora was a village of 2,500 souls that harboured the artists, hippies and eccentrics Nathan credits with the gift of a lifetime of creative energy. When he came back in 2019 for a “sabbatical year”, he found that creative spirit alive and well and just as welcoming as it was when he was a teenager finding his way.
With Nathan’s honey-bourbon voice, iconic acoustic guitars and well-honed story songs accompanied by Mark’s harmonica, The Lost Love Letter To A Small Town is a musical tribute to Elora then and now – a songwriter’s carousel that makes stops at dance nights under full moons, boisterous barrooms, sunset-painted cedar-lined fields and limestone cliffs and quarries.
The album has received praise and airplay on radio programs including Corby’s Orbit on Radio Regent in Toronto, CFMU-FM’s Freewheelin’ Folk Show in Hamilton, Canada’s long-running folk radio show, Canadian Spaces at CKCU-FM.
Peter Mandic will also perform an opening set. A five-album veteran, this gifted Elora-based singer-songwriter is the tireless proprietor of the Fergus Elora Music Facebook group and a contributor to many local music ventures.
Some savoury nibbles will be included as part of this musical experience. The cafe is licensed for wine and beer. Doors open at 7PM. Show starts at 7:30.
