Call for Jurors: 2026 Folk Canada Conference

Folk Canada is seeking jurors for the 2026 Folk Canada Conference (formerly Folk Music Ontario Conference)! We're currently accepting applications for both our 2026 Showcase applications as well as for the 2026 Ontario Folk Music Awards.

Jurors are chosen based on a variety of factors. Each year, we aim to have a lineup of jurors that represents the diversity and complexity of the folk music scene and its people.

IMPORTANT: Those that have applied to Showcase at the conference are ineligible to jury for showcase applications. In the same vein, those that apply for the 2026 Ontario Folk Music Awards are ineligible to jury for the awards.

The jurying process takes place completely online. Jurors will be expected to spend 8-10 hours jurying applicants, and may be called upon for extra consultation on their choices and comments. Jurors will be expected to submit their final scores by or before the deadline of Friday, February 27, 2026.

Selected jurors will be contacted by February 6, 2026. Only those selected for jurying will be contacted. If selected, all jurors will be expected to read and sign the 2026 Conflict of Interest and Confidentiality Agreement. In exchange for their time and expertise, each juror is offered a complimentary registration to the 2026 Folk Canada Conference, October 14-18 in Hamilton, Ontario.
