J’aimerais d’abord remercier nos hôtes bienveillants, la Nation Anishinabe Algonquine, de nous accueillir sur leur territoire, ainsi qu’à la ville d’Ottawa pour l’hospitalité offerte à notre conférence.
Merci à vous toustes pour votre présence, élément essentiel qui insuffle vie à cette conférence et dynamisme à notre scène musicale. En ces temps incertains, votre participation inspire confiance et espoir. C’est un véritable encouragement de voir les diversité et pluralité de notre communauté se refléter dans une affluence record cette année, tant par le nombre de délégué·e·s que par leur provenance des quatre coins du monde, ainsi que de toutes les provinces et territoires du Canada.

La musique demeure l’un des arts les plus rassembleurs et salutaires, et votre engagement à faire rayonner et à préserver cette flamme sacrée est inestimable et indispensable.

Hello good people and welcome the 2025 FMO Conference!

I would first like to thank our gracious hosts, the Algonquin Anishinabe Nation, for welcoming us on their territory, as well as to the City of Ottawa for hosting this conference.
Thank you all for being here — your presence is the vital force that breathes life into this event and momentum into our musical landscape. In these uncertain times, your participation brings hope and inspires confidence. It’s truly encouraging to see the diversity of our community reflected in this year’s record-breaking turnout, both in the number of delegates and in the wide range of regions they represent — from across the globe and every province and territory in Canada.

Music is one of the most unifying and healing of all art forms, and your commitment to nurturing and upholding its sacred flame is both invaluable and essential.
​
A heartfelt thank you to the board and staff of Folk Canada, and to the volunteers and contractors, for your tireless and meaningful contributions. It is an honour and a pleasure to work alongside you.
