Flin Flon, Manitoba singer-songwriter C.C. Trubiak was named a Top 10 semifinalist in the 2026 Diamonds in the Rough showcase competition during Country Music Week in Saskatoon.
The recognition came during Trubiak's first time attending Country Music Week, where he performed original songs from his independently released album Jukebox in Exile as part of the Diamonds in the Rough showcases before advancing to the Top 10 semifinal round.
For Trubiak, who continues to build his music career from northern Manitoba, the week offered an opportunity to introduce his traditional country/Americana songwriting to a wider Canadian music community while building new connections with artists and industry professionals from across the country.
Jukebox in Exile, released June 5, was written during the June 2025 wildfire evacuation from Flin Flon and explores themes of home, memory, displacement and connection.
