Clever Hopes: Fumbled Dreams (ft. Jenn Grant)

For the last little while, bilingual songwriter Andrew Shaver has been living two seemingly unrelated lives. As indie folk project Clever Hopes, he's been crafting songs inspired by fatherhood, family, loss, and the strange wisdom of young children. By day, he worked as Drewfus, a therapeutic clown at the IWK Health Centre in Halifax, NS, supporting children and their families through some of life's most difficult moments.

What Shaver has come to realize is that these two worlds are deeply connected. Therapeutic clowning isn't just about being funny so much as it is about paying attention, remaining open to surprise, connection, and wonder, even in the presence of suffering. The songs on his third album, Even Gooder Than Tomorrow (Sept 18, 2026), emerge from that same understanding.

Written during years that brought both immense joy and profound heartbreak, the album features eight original songs exploring the idea that grief and wonder are not opposites; they often live in the same room.

The album includes the CBC Music Top 20 No. 1 single "Holding On," the joyful parenting anthem "Do It All Again," featured on Pandora, "Keep On Going & “If It’s On,” both currently on rotation on SiriusXM, and the focus track "Fumbled Dreams (ft. Jenn Grant)".
