Close Kicks aka Darryl James is a songwriter and bassist with The Strumbellas. Close Kicks represents James's journey of creative independence. From mastering his musical craft—after beginning bass at age 30—to deeply embedding his personal experiences and local roots into his solo work, he has grown into a singular artistic force in both sound and storytelling. Performed, Produced and Mixed by Close Kicks, Black Cloud is James' most vulnerable song yet expressing resilience and determination in difficult times!
