Release: June 18, 2026
Oshawa, Ontario Singer-Songwriter Daniel Raymond will release a new single 'Peterborough', on June 18, 2026. The song looks back to Raymond's musical formative years in the city — and how they continue to propel him forward. Recorded and produced by Jim Bryson at Fixed Hinge Studio (Stittsville, ON), featuring Peter Von Althen on drums. The release will be accompanied by a video directed by Donald Fraser/Around the Fire Productions, shot on location across Peterborough in early spring 2026. 'Peterborough' is the first of four singles planned for release in the coming months.
Daniel Raymond writes songs of transformation and traversal — exploring who we are, who we were, and who we've always been. Familiar on first contact but increasingly distinct, his music takes unexpected routes to reach its soul-searching destination. Raymond re-emerged in 2020 after a 20-year hiatus from the music industry, releasing his debut solo project Soft, followed by Suspension in 2022, and his 2024 four-song EP What We’re Trying To Become — also recorded and produced by Ottawa’s Jim Bryson.
Raymond was nominated for Songwriter of the Year and Album of the Year at the 2023 Oshawa Music Awards, following a Durham Song of the Year nomination for ""115"" in 2021. His song 'Magic Show: 4pm' is currently a semi-finalist in the 2026 'Talent Is Timeless' International Songwriting competition.
