Desirée Dawson’s Hanging On is a collection of introspective and supportive acoustic songs that earnestly touch on ancestry, grief and liberation, leaving listeners with a feeling of hope and compassion. Desirée says “I wanted this project to feel like a live album. I wanted it to feel raw and imperfect, kind of like if we were all sitting around a cozy living room together, after a long week, and I was sharing some soothing songs with you while you're sinking into the couch with your warm drink of choice. Some of these songs have been with me for years and some of them are newer, but all of them mean a lot to me and have connected me to others in a variety of comforting ways.
