Ella Eva West: Performance Video Releases

Ella Eva West is a Canadian artist making music rooted in traditional folk, bluegrass, Americana, and country influences. She began writing her own music about a year ago, and this is her first released body of work.
These releases are a series of four live performance videos featuring three original songs and one traditional bluegrass cover. In the performances, Ella leads on vocals and guitar and is joined by two friends on cello, violin, and backing vocals.
The three original songs are her first recordings as a songwriter. Her songwriting focuses on personal yet universal stories, with each song coming from a different emotion or memory. She began writing in the summer of last year while living in the Yukon, where she attended her first folk jam sessions and festivals. The time spent there and the surrounding nature strongly influenced songs such as “Meant to Be” in this series. She has also recorded a traditional bluegrass cover to honour one of the many roots influences on her sound.
Beginning July 2nd, a new video will be released every Thursday at 5 pm MDT on her YouTube channel.
