Kate Greenland’s debut album, Longing & Dreaming, available November 1st, is a heartfelt journey through Classic Country and Folk traditions. Known for her work with The Monroe Sisters and The Folk Collusion, Kate steps into the spotlight with a collection of original and cover songs that feel both intimate and timeless.
Rooted in the sounds of '60s and '70s country, the album features warm pedal steel (Stuart Rutherford), tender fiddle (Nathan Smith), and rich harmonies (Chloe Laberge and Leeny Jones)—all framing Kate’s clear, emotionally honest voice. Her songwriting leans into poetic simplicity, drawing beauty from quiet moments and lived experience.
Though a solo debut, the record is rich with collaboration, showcasing thoughtful arrangements and a deep sense of musical kinship (including Matt Aston, Joe Ray McDonald, Philippe Charbonneau, and Brianna Herdman). Longing & Dreaming doesn’t chase trend—it offers sincerity, presence, and reverence for tradition.
With this release, Greenland emerges as a songwriter of rare promise. Longing & Dreaming is a quietly powerful debut—personal, resonant, and entirely her own.
