Out now is the latest EP by Liv Wade, Fur Queen!
Fur Queen is a 5-song folk/alt country collection, the title track being a story about Liv's birth mother and her life as a "Fur Queen" as part of the Northern Manitoba Trappers Festival. When Liv first started searching for her birth family, she had no idea about the festival or what or who a "Fur Queen" was. This pushed Liv to discover further information about her Metis heritage. She travelled to The Pas in her early twenties and had the honour of attending a Trappers Festival, which was so much more than she ever imagined.
With this song, Liv hopes to share some of what life is like for many in northern communities across Canada, and of course, her love for the land and our connection to it.
