The Norwegian singer-songwriter Marthe Halvorsen releases the new single “Change”.
This is a dreamy and stripped-down indie folk song – an echo of something we once believed in, but which keeps slipping through our fingers: hope.
'Change' draws the listener into a world that is both fragile and powerful where every note and every lyric carries something greater than itself. The song is built around a warm, organic and minimalist production where the vocals and lyrics are at the center. No big facts and no dramatic twists, but only a quiet insistence that change is still possible.
“The song is a counter-reaction to the times we live in,” says Marthe Halvorsen. It reflects on a world in imbalance and a strong need for a new direction. With poetic and dreamy lyrics, the song paints an authentic picture of hope and the belief that change is possible. “I wrote this song several years ago, and somehow it feels more relevant now than ever,” elaborates Marthe, who describes the song as a kind of “hopeful fight song in soft packaging.”
The single release comes accompanied by a Lyric video with visuals shot in Northern Norway.
