Maureen Pollard: When Will We Learn?

“When Will We Learn?” is the first single on Maureen's upcoming full-length album The Patriarchy is Ruinous (for everyone). This concept album, with an alternate title, We Are One, is a compassionate invitation to understand one another with deep connection to our shared humanity, regardless of gender identity and roles.

When Will We Learn proposes we can do better for men by encouraging and allowing little boys and grown men alike to be wholly human, with a full range of feelings. When it hurts, everyone cries.

This song evolved with helpful feedback from Doris Folkens, who facilitates Hillside Festival’s Girls and Guitars program, and then it was shaped just a bit more with Emm Gryner's insightful guidance as she worked with Maureen in the pre-production and production stages of album development.
