McKenna Moonah Blues Duo: Breaking News Release: January 10, 2025

Legendary guitar player Mike McKenna and singer/musician Jay Moonah have teamed up for the new EP Breaking News. Four well-crafted songs run the gamut from sultry electric blues to hard-hitting heartland-rock to classic acoustic slide and harmonica sounds. The EP will be available on all major digital services on January 10th.

Mike McKenna is one of Canada's top blues and rock guitarists. He has been wowing crowds for more than 60 years with such seminal bands as McKenna Mendelson Mainline, Luke & The Apostles, and Downchild. He was inducted into the Canada South Blues Society Hall of Fame in 2013, and nominated for the Maple Blues "Blues with a Feeling" Lifetime Achievement Award in 2023.

Jay Moonah is a singer, harmonica player, and multi-instrumentalist with almost four decades of experience on the Canadian roots music scene. His one-man blues band Broke Fuse received a Maple Blues Award nomination in 2022 for New Artist of the Year, and was an Official Showcase Artist at the 2023 Folk Music Ontario Conference in London.
