Mela Bee: Nominated for 2025 HIMA Award

I’m honored to share that I’ve been nominated for a 2025 Hollywood Independent Music Award in the Singer/Songwriter category for my song Dance & Cry.
The HIMAs are an international awards show that celebrates independent artists based purely on artistry — not numbers, not streams, not paid campaigns. Just the music itself: the songwriting, the message, and the performance.
Dance & Cry is the first single from my upcoming debut album — a song that came out of nowhere one night at 2am while I was in my PJs, just messing around on my guitar. I wasn’t heartbroken, but I let myself tap into that kind of feeling. What came out was something tender and cinematic — like crying on the dance floor, but in song form.
To see this song resonate with others has already meant the world — but this nomination is a beautiful reminder that heart and honesty still cut through.
I’ll be heading to L.A. this July for the red carpet ceremony… surreal.
