"With Ghost Beer Train, Paul Weber and his band have come out with another great collection of tunes that tell stories with local themes but universal appeal. This album is brimming with energy and enthusiasm for their community. Through storytelling and music, Paul Weber continues to preserve Ottawa’s history - both Anglo and Franco - reflecting the Capital’s bilingual roots. Highly recommended!"
Anne-Marie Brügger - Co-Host/Producer, Canadian Spaces, CKCU FM, Ottawa
Paul Weber’s newest (bilingual) album "Ghost Beer Train" is inspired by the tale of a buried beer train lying deep underground. Singer-songwriter Paul Weber continues to explore his local community, the region and his Franco-Ontarian heritage with tales of early aviators, dangerous hatpins, toy-pistol wielding cowboys, the hostess with the mostess, a Leonard Cohen Montreal map, Ottawa's forgotten king, and how to survive an Ottawa winter. The band also does their first cover song, "Les rues d'Ottawa", by the legendary Franco-Ontarian band CANO (le Cooperative des Artistes de Nouvel Ontario), a song all about wandering the winter streets of Ottawa. The music reflects their many influences, including folk, jazz and world music.
On November 1st the Paul Weber Band, plus some special guests, will be bringing their new album to Red Bird Live. Expect some story-telling, lively tunes and to go places in our region you didn’t know existed!
