Folk singer-songwriter Rebekah Hawker is back with a magnetic new single, "Taking a Look In," out now via Victory Pool Records. The track pulls you straight into a sweltering dive bar at the dead of summer, a song about desire, that intense and almost desperate pull toward someone you know nothing about but suddenly need to. With echoes of The Chicks and Shania Twain, it's the kind of song best consumed at full volume on the drive to wherever your summer takes you.
The single is already making waves, landing on Indie88's Weekend Café, Apple Music's Canada's Country playlist, and Spotify Editorial playlists Renegades and North Country.
Hawker hits the road this summer with Ontario dates and a West Coast run through Vancouver, Duncan, Nanaimo, and Courtenay in early July, followed by a first-ever appearance at Folk on the Rocks in Yellowknife (July 17-19) and a return to Summerfolk Music Festival (August 21-23).
Stream "Taking a Look In" at ffm.to/takingalookin and catch her on stage this summer.
