The Magic & Starlight New Year's Eve Cabaret is "an evening of timeless elegance" with a dash of bohemian whimsy. A classic, retro New Year's Eve party complete with midnight countdown, champagne toast, hors d'oeuvres, party hats, noise makers, a magician and live music by Will Gillespie and His Snazzy, Jazzy Cocktail Combo. It will be like celebrating New Year's Eve in a Nightclub in 1962. Everyone is encouraged to dress up in their most dazzling evening wear and sparkle themselves like starlight through champagne!
We kick things off with a performance by magician Kameron Marshall. Known for creating unforgettable moments with his astounding sleight of hand and charming banter, Kameron's tricks are sure to dazzle and delight!
Co-host Susan Robinson is sure to have a few tricks up her sleeve throughout the night as well!
Then an opening set by Old-Time musician Lotus Wight, who has been delighting audiences at Folk Festivals across Canada and Europe for years with Sheesham and Lotus, playing a set of Old-Time, Ragtime, Blues, Jazz, Folk and Hokum from the 1920's and other Old-Time styles. Fresh off an East Coast Canadian tour with Mike T. Kerr in their duet: the Quilters' Guild and a European tour with the Complete Recordings of Hezekiah Proctor before that this Summer, Sam Allison, AKA Lotus Wight has just been nominated as a finalist for the prestigious Stan Rogers Traditional Singer of the Year Award at the upcoming 2026 Canadian Folk Music Awards for his album "Original Works for Voice and Banjo".
Award-winning Canadian Singer-Songwriter, Crooner and Bandleader Will Gillespie was just nominated for 3 Durham Regional Excellence in Arts, Music and Sound (DREAMS!) Awards. Formerly known as the Oshawa Music Awards, or OMA's, the DREAMS! Awards re-branded to include the entire Durham region. Will's album: "MINE! True Stories and Legends of the Porcupine Gold Rush" was nominated for Album of the Year, Will Gillespie himself was nominated for Songwriter of the Year, and the song "Princess Maggie Buffalo" WON Song of the Year!!!
For this show Will has put together a timeless, classic band called "Will Gillespie & His Jazzy, Snazzy Cocktail Combo" featuring Lotus Wight on upright bass and Jazz drummer Sarah Varty as well as Will himself crooning out the lead vocals and playing an arch-top hollow body Gretsch electric guitar. Just like the band name suggests, they will be playing two sets of classic, retro, nightclub, lounge swingin' standards from the Age of Cool where Jazz and Rock & Roll meet as well as several of award-winning Canadian Singer-Songwriter Will Gillespie's own original songs in several timeless, classic Swing, Jazz, Blues, Rockabilly and Rock & Roll styles.
Black Box 70 is the new nightclub cabaret lounge downstairs below the Lobby Bar at the Market at 70 King. Step downstairs to Black Box 70, Oshawa’s hidden 64-seat stage.

includes appetizers throughout the night from several different food vendors from the Market at 70 King, -including cannolis from the Philipp'n Italian- and a glass of champagne at midnight.
The Regent is running the Box Office, selling tickets, but the event takes place at Black Box 70, downstairs below the Market at 70 King's Lobby Bar located at 70 King Street East in downtown Oshawa.
