2024 Ontario Folk Music Award Winners

The 30th annual Ontario Folk Music Awards took place in Mississauga, Ontario on Sunday, October 6, 2024, following the Folk Music Ontario Conference - the largest gathering of Folk Music Professionals in Canada.


Mississauga, ON - October 7 2024 - Folk Music Ontario is pleased to announce the winners of the 2024 Ontario Folk Music Awards.


The Ontario Folk Music Awards took place at Mississauga, ON’s Living Arts Centre on October 6, 2024. Hosted by Janice Jo Lee, performers included Sultans of String, The Angelique Francis Band, Adrian Sutherland, Mimi O’Bonsawin, Payadora Tango Ensemble, and Jessica Pearson and the East Wind, with a special presentation of the Estelle Klein Award to Samir Baijal, Pat O’Gorman and Julie Schryer by CBC q host, Tom Power. This year, the Ontario Folk Music Awards featured both a red carpet and a post event reception.


The 2024 Ontario Folk Music Award Winners are:

CMRRA Song of the Year:

Album of the Year:

Payadora Tango Ensemble featuring Lenka Lichtenberg and Aviva Chernick - Silent Tears, The Last Yiddish Tango

Estelle Klein Award:

Samir Baijal - Lifetime Achievement AwardPat O’Gorman and Julie Schryer - Community Builder Award

Colleen Peterson Award Presented by Ontario Arts Council:
