Are you a Canadian music business looking to expand your footprint in the Indo-Pacific region? Applications are now open for Folk Canada's Export Mission to Australia, supported by Can Export Associations.

This curated 5-day program is designed for Canadian businesses ready to unlock opportunities in the market and will include a full day in Melbourne on March 3, 2027 and four days at the strategic regional hub of Port Fairy March 4-7, 2027.

Folk Canada will provide cost reimbursement of 50% of travel, per diem, and ground transport for approved industry delegates. The remaining 50% must be covered by delegates using private funding.

Applications will be accepted until September 18, 2026.

In Melbourne, delegates will spend a full day meeting with Indo-Pacific buyers based in one of Australia's most active music hubs. The day is structured around pre-scheduled B2B meetings and networking, giving delegates direct access to regional buyers, presenters and industry contacts to advance new export relationships.

The Port Fairy Folk Festival is widely recognized as one of the oldest and largest folk festivals in Australia.

Having started in 1977, it is one of the nation's longest-running continuous music festivals. In terms of size, it is a massive event that transforms the historic fishing village by drawing thousands of visitors and hosting more than 100 acts across 20 different venues and stages. Folk Canada will be hosting a Canadian reception at the festival and creating opportunities for B2B meetings and networking activities with Indo-Pacific buyers throughout the event.

More activities may be added to the schedule, and will be confirmed in the upcoming weeks. Please allow for a full week of activity in Australia and time for travel when considering if you are available to participate in this activity.

Participating businesses will be reimbursed following the completion of the event. Completion of a survey detailing your results from the mission will be mandatory for all participants.

We will contact you about your application status within 3 weeks of the application deadline. Please note that there are a limited amount of spots available in this program. Participants will be selected in collaboration with our Australian programming partners.
