Writer's picture: Folk CanadaFolk Canada

Festivals across Canada are facing the challenge of safely and responsibly implementing harm-reduction strategies, particularly when it comes to drug checking, at their events. As Canada's substance landscape has evolved in recent years, there are new risks to be aware of and safety measures to implement to ensure festival attendees' safety. This webinar will provide foundational knowledge to help you navigate the operational and logistical considerations of partnering with mobile drug-checking organizations, how attendees can test their own drugs for dangerous substances, and offer a clear picture of what implementing these services at folk festivals can look like.

Speakers:
  • Chris Kling (he / they) Drug Checking Program Coordinator with ANKORS (BC)

    • A mobile drug-checking organization based in British Columbia that has worked at festivals like Shambhala.

  • Roxanne Hallal (she / elle) Drug Checking Program Director with GRIP (Montreal)

    • A service that offers drug-checking at festivals in Montreal and surrounding area

  • TBA

There will be a live Q&A session to ask specific questions and gather advice for your particular festival and region.
