Culture in Climate Conversations

Culture in Climate Conversations: Session #1 - Presentations and Q&A

Thursday, Feb 20, 1pm-2pm (Kafka Room, Level A)

Culture in Climate Conversations: Session #2 - Round Table Discussion

Saturday Feb 22, 1:30pm-2:30pm (Kafka Room, Level A)

Culture in Climate Conversations is a series of two one-hour sessions focused on the intersection of cultural events and the climate crisis. These discussions will bring together a diverse group of stakeholders, including Folk Canada, Indigenous Music Alliance, Canadian Heritage, Canada Council for the Arts, and the Centre for Sustainable Practices in the Arts. The sessions will explore the pressing threats climate change poses to cultural practices, the arts, and the economy, while fostering dialogue on how the cultural sector is adapting, innovating, and advocating for sustainability. The conversations are designed for all individuals invested in the safety, resilience, and economic wellbeing of cultural events. As we face unprecedented challenges, these sessions aim to unite the arts community in finding solutions and strategies for a sustainable future. This initiative encourages participants to engage with the evolving narrative of climate action through creative and cultural lenses.
