Rebekah Hawker: Quit My Habit

ree

Ontario-based country-folk artist Rebekah Hawker has released her sophomore EP Quit My Habit—a heartfelt collection of songs about grief, growth, and the quiet power of coming home. Written in the sunroom of her family’s rural Oro-Medonte home, the EP reflects on love, loss, and identity with grit, humour, and tenderness.

Following a whirlwind few years—opening for Dean Brody, Jim Cuddy, and The Good Lovelies; winning Mariposa Folk Festival’s Emerging Artist Showcase—this new chapter sees Hawker slowing down and creating from a place of reflection and emotional clarity.

Produced by longtime collaborator Will Crann and recorded at Catherine North Studios, Quit My Habit features a stellar lineup: Thomas Hammerton (keys/organ), Michael Eckert (pedal steel), Stu Weinberg (guitar), and Julian Psihogios (drums). The result is a warm, intimate sound that lets Hawker’s storytelling shine.

To celebrate, Rebekah will perform a full-band release show on June 21 at the Cameron House Backroom in Toronto. The night will feature an opening set by special guest Alyson McNamara, whose recent album has drawn wide acclaim for its raw beauty. Tickets are limited for this one-night-only event.
